Scottish Assessors’ Portal Privacy Notice

This privacy notice explains how your local Assessor collects and uses personal information about you through www.saa.gov.uk to help deliver services efficiently and effectively.

Each of the 14 Scottish Local Assessors work together to develop, deliver and maintain the Scottish Assessors’ Portal. This is to provide a single online access point to Valuation Roll and Council Tax information on a Scotland-wide basis, sourced from the locally managed and maintained databases held by each of the Assessors.

Each of the 14 Scottish Local Assessors is the Data Controller for the Personal Data collected via the Portal for their own statutory area.  Further information about your Local Assessor is available here – www.saa.gov.uk/assessors-links/

Please refer to the Privacy Notice for your local Assessor. Further information on the Portal and how it works is available here – www.saa.gov.uk/about-the-portal/

Assessors

There are currently 14 Scottish Local Assessors who have been appointed by their respective Valuation Authorities in accordance with the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 and the Local Government Finance Act 1992.

Local Assessors upload information to the Scottish Assessors’ Portal website www.saa.gov.uk which is a single information source for the Valuation Roll and Council Tax Valuation List. The Portal may also contain guidance on Electoral Registration.

Each Assessor is the Data Controller for the information gathered in connection with their statutory functions and any personal information gathered is governed by the Data Protection Act 2018. As such, please refer to the Privacy Notice of your own Local Assessor, where you will find further information on how your Personal Data is used, as well as your rights under data protection legislation.

Please refer to the Privacy Notice for your local Assessor. More information on Local Assessor Privacy Notices can be found at www.saa.gov.uk/privacy or by visiting the home page of your Local Assessor.
